Silencer Alarm Problem?

I have a '98 Sonoma that won't start. When you turn the key, nothing happens, no click, no engaging, no nothing. When I bought the truck used it had a Silencer Alarm System that uses an ignition lock (door locks are manual). The alarm was disengaged a few years ago, but when we replaced the Neutral Control Switch it re-engaged. Drove it for a few days without any problems. Last night when I started the truck, it started but made an unusual electrical noise and the "security" light on the dashboard stayed on. When I got home, I turned the truck off and restarted it with no problem. This morning it won't start again. I tried pushing the buttons on the remote, and on the back of the alarm (mounted under the dash). The red light on the alarm usually blinks, but is not on at all now.

Any help I can get in getting the truck started and/or removing the alarm would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :banghead:

More than likely the ignition switch is shot and needs replaced.
