Does anybody knows if some of the new sparkplugs of iridium or silver or others will work better in a 305 V8 Caprice?
Also I was wondering if somebody knows the stock or suggested gap for sparkplugs for this car?

Platinum plugs work well. I don't know about the others - seems like they'd cost more without delivering enough more to cover their cost. Stick with the platinums. Also, it depends on what year your car is. Cars with large cap distributors generally are .060" while small-cap cars are .035 etc.

Platinum is STRICTLY for longevity. No plug will perform better than a $1 copper plug of the right heat range. This isn't to say don't use platinum it is just to say don't believe any hype claiming power.

Thanks, but performance will raise if the proper gap is used right? I think I do not have the correct.

Gap them to whatever the sticker on the core support says and yes gapping them is worth the effort.
