Is this a T/A????

Hey well a guy at my school just got his moms 98 automatic firebird and I cant tell if its a Ls1 or not. I looked at the writing on the fenders by the body trim and it says firebird. Dont the Ls1s say trans am instead? If not how would I be able to tell aside from looking at the engine bay or asking him? Thanks-

LS1 are the v-8 engine, so if ur buddies car says firebird on the door then it is a v.6 not LS1. Other wise it would say trans am on the door meaning it was a v-8 ,LS1 5.7 lt.

Alright thats what I had thought but everyone assumes its a v8. Probably because it has exhaust. Thanks a lot-

If it had an LS1...

It would say either one of three things.
Firehawk, Trans Am, or Formula.
