Looking at buying an M3, what to look for???

Well I am looking at purchasing a used M3, possibly a 15+ and I noticed a few that I looked at had upwards of 100k miles on them.

is mileage a big thing on BMW's? I know on honda's you can get one with 100k miles and its basically just starting life.

I am trying to find a 15+ M3 in either black or silver with an automatic trans and if possible one with the onboard computer and navigation.

If you guys could please give me some pointers and things to look for I would be greatly appreciative

What do you mean 15+??? 100k miles is nothing on those motors either, as long as it has been taken care of. My only other advice is to FORGET THE AUTOMATIC.

Sorry I meant 95+.

I need ot get an automatic because my mom is gonna have to drive it occasionally and she can't drive a stick because of her back.

plus when I feel the need to drive stick I got a 6 speed camaro.;)

I have seen Bimmers with 500k and up miles...these things will last forever with proper maintenace. Mine's about to hit 200k and runs like a dream!

I have always wondered about this. When you say is has 200K miles on it and runs good, is that becuase you granny drive it? Or do you push it to 70-80mph on the highway? Sorry if i sound like a smartass, but I dont see how a engine could last that long, even with proper care.

It's German, and with regular maintenance and replacement of parts that suffer regualr wear and tear, I bet it's possible.

Ohhh, I don't granny drive it. The last owner may have, but not me. I push it past 100 on almost a daily basis, and I am mean to it at stop lights. I haven't had a single problem with it. Chalk it up to fine German engineering. I don't think mine will last to 500k, but it'll last me at least another 100 or so.
