It flooded here the other day and i went out to the store..Well, going threw the water was no problem but, a woman was driving aheaded streight at me and wasnt going to turn...So, I moved over to avoid getting hit...
Well, when i did my front tire sliped off the side of the road and it jerked me into a deep ditch...I allmost got out before it died..I got it pulled out of the water and after letting it set its runs fine...Seems the only thing that got sunk was the starter..
Bring me to my problem..its been a couple if days and the starter acts like the bendix is bad now..It will goto grab and then let off and just run..You can turn the key back off and hit it again and it will cetch and start....My question is..Is the bendix shot cause of the water now or does it just need time to line itself back out...
If the Bendix is shot, I can get a replacement one for $8.00 but, im not sure how had it would be to replace myself....Local shop wants $50.00 to rebuild it..IM not so sure it needs rebuilt..It all seems fine but, its hick-up...
Is it much trouble to replace this myself? if needed...

If you have a compressor slap on the face sheild, and try blowing it out through every little crack in the starter.
We did this from time to time with the heavy equiptment that I ran, and basicly got us 1 or 2 extra seasons out of a starter
