There's some squeeking noise when i turn on the engine and it seems to stop after 10 secs. Is it a belt? how would i know if its a timing belt or some other. I just bought it and the car runs fine. is the noise a major problem? should i get it fixed
Thanks.
Thanks.

sounds like a common belt squeak, its nothing major to worry about but i would look into new belts soon, what kind of car?

Yeah, I've had an oil leak cause belt squeaking in a Grand-Am before. Slips and squeaks.
Not saying it's his problem (he probably would've noticed), just saying it's something to check for.
