Some of you in the past were interested in finding the Ebay person who repairs ECMS and yes he is quite reasonable. Here is hi link

Yes - I found this fellow's E-Mail address by surfing thru the Tracker section of
this Forum.

I sent him a few questions....don't bother.

He writes "one line'er" answers that say almost nothing.
It is difficult to deal with folk like that.

He could prepare an elaborate statement to E-Mail back to people that would
answer almost all questions ever asked of him - just cut and paste it into his
replies.......but he doesn't.

I suppose he is good at repairing those ECM's, but I am not very sure of
EXACTLY which models he repairs. Trackers only or Metro's also?
I asked him, but his answer was cryptic. Can't bother, I suppose.

My wife's '93 Tracker C.E.L. won't go out. No code when shorted - just "ON"

The vehicle works just fine - about 32 mpg and powerful.

Is the ECM 'bad' or what? - I have to spend $50 plus shipping to find out and
wait a couple of weeks w/o the vehicle working....... My wife needs the
vehicle!

All the Trackers at the local Pull-n-Saves (3 here in Spokane) have had the
ECM's ripped out!

Popular item, no!? Same problem? Universal dilemma? Hard to say.....

So I sit here with my finger up my nose pondering "what to do?"

What prevails is..... "If it ain't broke - don't fix it!"

My wife LOVES that vehicle - if I "Fix" it and it don't run, I gots me a pissed
off wife. And you guys know what its like to have a pissed off wife - right!?
If your wife ain't happy - ain't NOBODY happy........

DoctorBill

PS - If he reads this and I have to send him my Tracker ECM, he may do the
equivalent to the Cook spitting in one's Salad.....

You are saying that a '92 ECM will work in a '93 Tracker...?

BTW what years overlap for parts on the trackers?

Thanks!

I will look into it.

Thanks for the information!

I was wondering how you got that place/price info, so I did some Googling.

Maybe you used this web site:

http://www.car-part.com/Directory/Recyclers/Online/USA/wa.htm

I set it for Washington State, but it covers all states.

I found the two places you mentioned.

If you go to the dealers with an "X" in the Car Part Inventory on the right,
you will be able to find out if they have a part 'in stock.'

I may just order that ECM for our Tracker - just to have a spare I can
put in while the original is being fixed.

Thanks again for that information.
