Well i've finally got my act together & started building again after a long time away from the hobby.
Here's the kit im going to try and complete.
Its a Hasegawa Jaguar XJS with full (V12) engine detail. Undecided on the wheels. Think i'll go for the Fujimi spokes seen here in the mock up, the stock wheels shown seem a bit clumsy i think.
Well here it is all primered up waiting for paint which will be TS-11 (Maroon)
Interior will be a sandy colour.
Thanks for looking, Mike :sunglasse

Nice stuff! The stock wheels look pretty good I think, it's the tractor-like tyres that makes them look strange. Spoke wheels are better, tho'. Keep it up!

Sweet!
Looking forward to seeing the progress.
This was one of the coolest cars around when I was in high school in a small (35k) town.
I'm gonna have to dust off my old Revell snapper and post a pix now.

Another Jag, finally someone to share my experiences with the Hasegawa kit with. For such a good modeler as you are, you shouldn´t face any problems with the some issues the kit has (hood, windows and rear fender).
Good luck and I´m psyched to see it finished!
If you like to, you can check my progress thread on the Hasegawa TWR XJS http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=449903&highlight=jaguar

Cool project! I have the XJS TWR street version awaiting the day to get built. I really enjoyed building the standard XJS when it came out a couple decades ago
Here's pics of it, use them as built reference for things like hood fit, ride height, etc. I'd have been a lot more careful building it now vs. then :icon16:

Oh thanks guys & thanks for the pics of your XJS's, yes, it does look like a pretty decent kit for its age. Body mods.........naaaaaaa, not really my thing or should i just be plain truthfull and say that i darent even try as i wouldnt want to Fu%¤ this one up. We'll see though if it needs lowering a touch, probably will. It would help too if i could find some decent pix on the net.
Body gets painted on friday then left to dry for a month or so leaving me time to get on with the engine etc.........
Thanks again, Mike :sunglasse

Oh sorry Mike... just your VIP builds led me to believe you were modding them and this Jag looked like it might get the VIP treatment. never had a VIP kit so didnt realise they looked so good OOB.

Will follow this thread with interest! Not least because I have the same kit ;)
On a minority voice about those wire wheels...hmmmm ;)
Somehow this 70s car doesn't take wire wheels well for me - a tad OTT but I look forward to changing my mind in the completed thread :)
PS I haven't forgotten about the S800 photos, I'm still away from the office.

One very cheesy car coming up, one! I like it a lot!
It's a quite nice kit, with a nice V12 in it, I m sure you ll make the best of it.
Oh and I m with Klutz on this one, I m watching it closely to see what has to be done on my cabrio version still bathing in the DOT4 for ages now.
Oli ( agreed on the hmmmmm factor of the rims- it might need something even cheesier to ride on)

Good to see something new from you, Mike! Never seen this one here before, will be a pleasure to follow. I still have the racing version of this one in my closet.
If you´re still undecided on the wheels, please take something different than those Fujimi spokes. They doesn´t suit this Jag very well, if you ask me. Either spoke wheels and big tyres, or different ones an low tyres, but low tyres on spokes are terrible.
