got a 1996 maxima doesnt move when put in gear.
makes like a buzzing noise when put in gear.if a put it in
park the noise doesnt stop.the only way to stop it is to turn car off.then when i start the carback up in park it makes no noise.it seems like the
tranny is shifting gears but doesnt move and makes that noise.

...doesnt move and makes that noise.
Hard to guess w/o history.
Generally, faulty Maxima box electronics may cause anything. Check all voltages, and also the TCU valve driver signals are how they should be, as FSM tells. Check box ctrl wire connections. See page 15 (earlier model box).
Now, only after voltage/connector questions have been verified/corrected, run tranny self diag, what are the codes?

Mechanically start checking from loose selector linkage, oil swap (see above). Purchase, install the valve upgrade (p.24), solenoid pack. In my box, those may be done w/o dropping tranny.
Last thing the most expensive: drop tranny and open or swap another.
