stalling/dis module

I have a 93 lx 2.3l. I've been having a lot of troubles with what I assume is the DIS module. Check engine light(erratice idm reading, DPI, etc), half rpm reading etc, but car ran pretty good. So since i needed to get it smogged, I bought a new dis module (cheapest 1 which i regret now). Starts up, check engine gone, rpm is fine but now it dies on idle usually. I didn't put on dielectric grease on the new dis module, could that be the problem? I was thinking not because the car isn't even running too long to make the module get too hot. Changed spark plugs and cleaned out throttle body. When its going it runs fine but when I stop is when it has problems. Fuel pressure is good.
So I'm trying to figure out if its the cheap ass module I bought, or the fact I didn't put grease on, or something else like the TPS. The only thing that makes me think its the module, is when I changed to the new module car ran like crap, put old module in and car ran like a champ except check engine light and rpm. But now the module seems pretty much toast so I had to put the new 1 back in. Also code i get when engine off is 223-Loss of Dual Plug Inhibit Control. When I test with engine on it usually dies midway through, only code I was able to get out of that was 116, engine control temp voltage too high or low.

Any ideas? Car isn't worth it to bring to a mechanic so he can charge me 4 hours of labor plus a $300 part or something.
