According to www.f1.com, Mark Webber is going to test for Jaguar F1 this year, lining him up for a spot on the team next year if Irvine (who isn't under contract next year) doesn't return. I think Webber has been very impressive this year, considering what he has to work with. Going to Jaguar would be a big mistake. I'd like to see him at good ol' Sauber as soon as Massa or Heidfeld leave (which is inevitable). Going to Jaguar would be a huge mistake. Jaguar, not Minardi or the antics of M.S. and Ferrari at Austria, are the joke of F1. They spend lots of money with minimal results. They are worse than BAR in my mind becaue this is a factory team we're talking about. With Ford money and experience a team such as Toyota doesn't have, they should be placing much higher than last. Webber places higher in a very underfunded Minardi regularly. Why would he want to (dare I say it) take a step down from Minardi and go to Jaguar.
Note that this test certainly doesn't mean Webber's bags are packed and he's headed for Jag, but it would be a big mistake for him to even consider such am move. He is an exciting driver, full of potential and it would be disappointing to see him end up with a team that is lacking just that, potential. Ford might be dropping the team and they have failed to improve over the last few years. Don't go Mark, don't go!

that's true...maybe webber's just excited about another team offering him another contract
i agree with you...he should stay w/ minardi
i don't think sauber would sign him though
they have good drivers already
i really don't understand jaguar
their road cars are pretty good, and i don't they they have any other racing commitments
maybe its just that, a lack of commitment on the part of the HQ of jaguar
