Ok, got a 95 Blazer LT 4x4, it is runs good. 136K. 18-19 city mid 20s highway. Done a lot of work to it, as in repair and fixing as things go bad. No performance changes except synthetic fluids all the way round and a KN air filter. I have scoured many web sites and forums and can say this one is the best for honest advice. I always look here for the truth! What I am curious to know is if it is worth 180 to 200 dollars to get a Jet Performance Module for this truck. I really don't need the power, though nice, but rather looking at it for a little bit more fuel economy. I have asked various shade tree mechanics and it seems to be a mixed bag of answers, some ranging from no difference to others saying a little performance increase. Any thoughts on this issue? Thanks Miller:banghead:

from what i've heard, the chips for our trucks only dump more fuel into the engine to make more power (jet says 10hp). u would also have to switch to mid-grade or high-grade gas. honestly, i think there are better ways to use that 200 bucks (like a performance exhaust system/muffler).

Chips are basicly the last mod in a performance setup. If you chip a stock motor with factory exhaust you might even loose some power, but if you have a full flow setup, and an intake system then you'll get some nice gains from the chip.
They really just compliment any other upgrades that you've done.

Don't get the chip. Get a programmer itself. It doubles as a DTC reader and you can change so many other paramiters. From everything to shift firmness to tire size. The performance program only does one of two things, advance the timing and changes to the fuel curve are very slight. Depending on what year Blazer you have you can get the same thing just from putting in a 160 deg thermostat and advance the timing yourself.

we're talking about a 95 here. u can't get a tunner (even tough its technically OBD2). u also can't adjust the timing on a 95. there are hypertech and jet chips availible but they just dump in more fuel for power.
