I have down a half dozen searches and looks like there is a common problem with the early model rodeos. With all the posts i have not come up with a straight answer for the solution. Same problems 3.1 v6 is idleing rough running way rich and backfiring. I lost my muffler and thohgt that ws the prob got new one and now engine light stays on and lack of power. Disconnected the battery power to reset cel and before i even started the engine light came on. so wha tis it the o2. This seems like to common of a problem to nto have an answer for it thx

I think the 3.1's adjust the fuel trim primarily with the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. I'd look into that.

So if that were the case if i had a exhaust manifold leak that would mess up my air fuel. @nd were is the stock location for the o2 sensor?

1) No. 2) Threaded into the exhaust pipe, just upstream of the catalytic converter.

Soak it down with some powerblaster to free it up.

..Not Sure Were The Map Sensor Is
I believe it's mounted on or near the air cleaner housing on the GM 3.1L It's got two vac lines on it and is a small black box looking thing- IIRC. Autozone.com has some pretty handy parts location diagrams once you put in your year/make/model/engine info.
