97 Dodge Avenger tranny nightmare

anyone who would know anything about the Avenger's transmission, your help would be appreciated. various sensors have been replaced, and the transmission was just rebuilt. the car ran for one day and went right back to limp mode. this is what has happened after every trip to the garage. Half of the balance of rebuild on the tranny is still owed, that was the agreement. Now I'm not so sure that I even want them to do anymore to it. This is the second place that has tried to fix this car, it have been out of commission for 6 months now! No one can figure out what's wrong with it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

thanks for repling. i saw that you had over 1900 posts, so i figured that you would have an answer. thank you. If for some reason this doesn't work is there anything else you can think of? On the mechainc thing, should he be paid, or should we let him try to fix it then work it out?

shoot idk what to tell ya, ill ask my bro he knows a lil more than me on dsm's. assuming there is fluid and it was rebuilt then i would think itd work. if the mechanic told you that what he did would fix it, then he should find out whatever is wrong now and fix it for free, atleast thats my opinion. my mechanic has a work guarentee and if something he fixes doesnt work he will fix it for free.

we took it to a place called Cottman's and they have a guarantee, but he wants the money first. He knows how frustrated we were with the car, and of course he tod us he would get to the bottom of it, quick since it had been in the shop for months already. I'm not so sure now, though, I feel like it's gonna be another dead end, with 2000$ down the drain. thanks for your help, i appreciate it.
