What tires to get????????????

I am going to purchase 4 new rims that are 18" X 7". I was just wondering if anyone knew what is a good tire size for the rim size? Obviously I dont want to hit the fender everytime I turn. So im not sure what size to get. thanks

Are you going to lower the car at all? What year, model; are you on stock size wheels now (i assume so, just wanted to ask)
Stock ride Height - Outside Diameter on the stock tire 225/6016 is 26.6 in. The closest match to the OD is a 245/4518 which has an OD of 26.7 in.
Lowering Springs (approx. 1" lower) - best match I can think of is a 245/40/18.
both sizes should leave you inside the wheel well and the sidewall should be short enough not to cause problems.
Check this out http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html you can look at the sizes there and maybe help get a better idea of what you need.
