Insight Digital Cable, and why i hate them..

i used to use dish network, but when i moved, i decided to save a couple of dollars by getting digital cable and cable internet, as they were offered in a package deal...
the money i am saving just isn't worth the issues i am having.
first off, when i want to watch tv, don't make me confirm that i actually want to watch tv. currently, when i press the on button on the remote, a purple screen pops up with a list of options like digital cable, watch tv, local channels, etc..
obviously if i sat my lazy ass down in the chair and grabbed the remote--i wanted to watch tv...get rid of the first menu, it's annoying.
now at least once a week, i can't get the guide. it tells me that it's not available. what? guide service not available. what the hell....so now i have to manually flip through channels instead of going a page at a time. why do i wnat to work my thumbs any harder than i need to? ...which leads me to the next ...
why list all of the channels i don't get? if i haven't subscribed to them, then why list them at all? this just makes me have to page through more crap--then i see something i may want to watch, but i can't get it unless i pay more (which is ok) but don't list it in the first place. give me a fetaure that allows me to filter out the channels i don't subscribe to.
favorites list....only one? i came from dish network, i had 5. it was great. i had one, my wife had one, my dog had one...everyone was happy. so now, i have to put everyones list onto one listing, which equals to about 40 channels...that i have to page through. look, i'm sitting around watching tv, so you know i'm already lazy, so why make me work any harder to find what i want to watch.
video on demand. great feature--when it works. "no items listed" "system busy, try again later" ...not really very on 'on demand' is it?
i order cable for 3 rooms, why can't i have 3 cable boxes? in my living room i have a cable box. i get all of the channels i ordered. but in the other 2 rooms, i only get 75? i have no problem paying for them. but they won't offer them. i've asked.
and please don't try to charge me extra for extra lines. if i pay for 3 rooms, and only get one box--you better believe i'm not going to pay more for you to install cable and internet through-out the whole house. i can run to radio shack and do that myself. i was honest enough to ask for 3 rooms...
anyone else have any gripes about insight? i know they are the local cable source in illinois, kentucky, iowa and ohio...so some of you may know what i am talking about.

Remember when TV's had turning dials? :smokin:
I don't let my TV or cable for that matter, get in my life. I've only been watching the news lately, since Canada's been having an election for a new government (go conservatives!). The only other time I use my TV is for gaming, but even that's very seldom.

Only problem I have had with my digital cable is that I had a DVR go bad and it had to be replaced. Called the cable company and the next day someone was out there to replace the box. Only time that I have had any problems with it telling that me that information is unavailable is after I unplug it. Plus I have cable boxes into rooms. I have to rent the 2nd box, but there is no different between that and satellite. Hell with satelitte you have to buy your box and then pay an additional fee on top of that for extra boxes

They show you what you cant see the provoke you to buy the extra channels. If you didnt see them at all you wouldnt know they were there and would never see anything you might want to watch. I think if your paying for cable in 3 rooms you should have 3 boxes, or you should only be paying for 1 room.

right, but satellite systems have a great feature that let you select between channels you have and a full listing of evry channel. this feature is great, i can then see the channels i don't have--only if i want to..
