Avenger Console

Hey, I am buying a 1997 avenger with sunroof and all-power everything tonight..its 1am right now... While test driving it i found some electronic thingy under the console and was wondering what that was. There was no manual in the glovebox so I do not know if it will come with one.

under the consol? i know the amp that powers the speakers is down there. but thats about it. ive taken the entire interior out of one of those cars so ive seen everything, if i can remember anything else ill post it.

can you explain how you found it too? did you take the consol out?

Oh I opened the console and pulled the plastic piece up, thinking that there was more storage room, it may be an amp, i did not look at it because we were test driving it.

you may want to check the transmission out. alot of these cars have major tranny problems early on. un fortunately i know from experience, and from what i've read, so have many others.

Its the air bag module under the console tray. The amp is in the trunk up above.

Yes, me too. The A604 auto transmission has a problem with the diff. pin failing. If yours is an automatic you should either get the new ugrade kit to fix it before it breaks or you can spend some money and get a fully built one with your core for like $1500 from ExileRacing. Mine was $1800 just to rebuild it when the pin broke.

in the trunk? when we took my bros interior out the amp was pretty close to the shifter.

I saw the infinity amp in the trunk, but I am talking about after taking the plastic piece off inside the console.
