1.9 efi Ho Header

Does anybody noe if the 89 escort gt 1.9 efi ho header is a direct bolt on to the 2nd gen 1.9ls? If im correct it also bypasses the cat converter and directly bolts up to the exhaust piping? Are there any little mods needed here or there? Thnx

It's not a direct bolt on. The engines in 1st gen sit at a little different angle then 2nd gens, so the end of the cat sticks up into the floor. Also it hit's the PCV tube, and EGR hook up is different, and if you have a 96 you'll need to add a 2nd O2 sensor.

so what mods am i really looking at here i got a 93. Once i got the header bolted into the engine what comes next. Im thinking the EGR is not that tough of a problem to fix. And whats the pcv tube, how you fix it? Some say that it might come up short to the pipe, so ull need an extension which i read wont cost more than 30 buks, true?

The Gt 1.9 header fits all CVH engines to my knowledge...how they fit in the car would be different. And they do bypass the cat, but only if you put in the straightpipe. Old Escorts had the cat in front of the engine, directly behind the radiator...and Ford moved it to behind the engine, just under the floor....probably for heat reasons.
