I am absolutely speechless, honored, humbled, and eternally grateful. So I will just tell the facts. I have recieved the late Augie Hiscano's demonstration lathe that he brough all over the country to the shows. I recieved the a couple tools, 3 chucks, the lathe, pictures from Mrs. Hiscano of Augie and his projects, and a letter from her. In one of the chucks is a wheel Augie was working on right before he passed away that he planned to bring to Salt Lake City. I hope to make Augie proud, and I cannot thank the Hiscano's enough.

Later I will find away to upload the pictures I recieved from Mrs. Hiscano to just share some of Augie's work with the world as he is sharing it with me.

What you have there is a real piece of modelling history. I'd love to know your association with the Hiscano's that made this possible! I'll bet the box also contained a seriously large amount of 'inspiration'...
Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing the 'fruits of his spirit...'

That is so good that it has found a home with someone that attaches as much importance to its provenance as to the tool itself.
I only know it's previous owner from stories and so on, but I'm still glad. I think it's important.
Now enjoy yourself with it and build some awsome models with it!!!

as for augie, i dont really know much, but i know he was a great modeler.

O M G !, this is the Holy Grail to all modellers the whole world over, if that thing could talk imagine the stories it could share. To any body out there who doesn't know who Augie Hiscano was, there was not a lot of people ( if any ) who could equal nevermind better his creations, this man was an absolute genius when it came to producing parts on the lathe, the ammount of detail he could incorporate into even the smallest of parts was legendary, I suggest to people who are not familiar with this incredible mans work do a search on the web, you will be glad that you did believe me. Just my :2cents: but , I'll bet that a lot of modellers out there will agree with me :grinyes: .

Congrats Mike! You'll get good use of it. What are your first projects going to be?
People should know that this wasn't Augie's personal lathe, it's his "roadshow demo" lathe that everyone saw him using when he was giving demos. Augie's personal lathe and his special tools went to his best friend who will keep it and cherish it until he passes away. So both of Augie's lathes are in good hands, and I'm sure Augie would be proud that his legacy lives on.

Lucky sod! :) If being entrusted as the caretaker of that fine and historic piece of machinery doesn't inspire you, I don't know what will.
