looking for vehicle speed sensor in 93 sho

I just had my tranny rebult it is a axode the tranny is still rough when slowing down it kick into 2nd or 3rd and sometimes the torque converter slips at slow speeds. The reason it got the tranny rebuilt is bucause i would be going down the highway and it would slip into 2nd and jerk the car really bad. I would also like to know where my OD wiring comes from it is not hooked up and i dont know if this could be a problem or not it shifts into OD just fine but i would still like to be able to shut the OD off. THere is currently no wire in the shifter knob.

If I remember correctly, the VSS is mounted in the rear of the tranny housing near the driver's side firewall (in the US). It will be in the area where the steering shaft comes through the firewall. Not easy to get to.

Where are you looking when you say the OD wiring is not hooked up? If you just have an issue where the OD Off light doesn't shut off, the wires commonly break in the shift lever. There are step-by-step instructions for repairing the wire at www.shotimes.com.

If your overdrive is not working, you may have a broken e-clip on the OD servo assembly. It can be a DIY project to replace if you are fairly handy and have common hand tools. The e-clip costs around $0.17 at a hardware store and will probably take you a couple of hours to replace.

I used to own an immaculate chipped (LPM) 1993 SHO ATX. I traded it in on a 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T twin turbo. I then realized I missed my SHO, so I traded in my Nissan Pathfinder on an immaculate 1998 SHO that I still own. The V-6 was a lot more fun in town, but the V-8 is great on the highway and is larger inside and more comfortable. The baby seat fits better in the '98. :)

My dad owned his own repair shop and I would go down there after halfday pre-school, so I've been around cars since I was 4. From the time I turned 14, I'd ride my bicycle to his shop and help him work on cars. That was my afternoon and summer job through my first two years of college. My dad always threatened to cut off my hands if I went in to auto repair professionally, so I got a degree in electrical engineering which allows me to tinker on cars for a hobby. I still have both my hands.

Fortunately, being in the engineering field, I work with a lot of frugal engineers who own GM vehicles, so I get plenty of opportunities to work on cars to suit my hobby. :)
