i have a 95 f-150 that shuts down and wont crank back up when i drive it through a car wash, it rains, and even if the roads are wet the next day after it rains. when im driving down the road the RPM's drop about 500 rpm's at a time and it keeps dropping till it shuts down, and it wont start back up till i let it sit for a few hours. i've tried changing the distributer cap but it keeps happening, i was told it might have something to do with my air intake, but i dont know what it could be. thanks for any help

Sounds like water is getting into an electrical connector somewhere. Theyre sealed pretty good from the factory, ive seen em run with everything under water but the air intake. But if its ever been worked on and had components changed, they might not have been resealed properly. Check all the connectors under the hood, take them apart and look for moisture, clean em , reseal em with silicone grease, and make sure theyre pushed back together good and tight. If you were getting enough water in the air intake to make it go dead, it would probably be doing other, more serious damage. Silicone spray is a good sealer for the coil, and dist cap, inside and out. Just let it dry good before you put the cap back on. It can blow the cap up when you start it, if the solvents arent dry. good luck.
