Need help with hazard connector...

Hey all,
I spent the weekend painting a bunch of my interior trim pieces (Turned out BEAUTIFUL!). Anyways, during this time, I removed my guage-cluster cover (that big rounded "hood" over the guages). Anyways, when I went to put it back on, I could not get the hazard-light button to plug back into it's harness (the harness is REALLY short, doesn't pull out from the dash AT ALL!). If I don't plug it in, my turn-signals don't work. So, what I had to do was pull the button out of the cover, plug it into the harness, and put the cover on OVER the button... So, I can still use the hazards, and my turn signal works, but it looks retarded, cuz the button is just flopping around inside the cover.

My question is, has anyone else had this problem, and if so, is there some kind of trick to getting this beotch hooked back up properly?!

Thanks,

When I put my Gauge Cluster in I couldn't get one of those buttons to come out, so I just flipped the thing around like 180*. So you might try turning it upside down, plugging in the Hazzard button flipping it back around and then attaching the defroster button if that one is easier.
