Help!!! The Key Won't Turn?

I was trying to start my Caravan for about 45mins last night and about and hour this morning. The key just won't turn. I don't know what is wrong with it. I also no close to nothing about cars. I was looking for information on-line and I was brought here. If anyone could offer a little advice it would be most appreciated. Thank you!!!:banghead:

Welcome on your first post on AF.
Not sure it will help but try turning the steering wheel back and forth.
If it gets in a bind it will lock the ign switch.
Also try your spare key.
Has it been giving you any problems besides now?

Sometimes, if the steering-wheel lock mechanism isn't engaged, the key won't turn. Giggle the steering-wheel see if it makes any difference.

If that doesn't help,there may be a problem with the lock-cylinder.
