Security Problem i think?

Ok so heres whats wrong, I know that 99 intriques are equipped with a security system so that when the correct key is inserted then the fuel pump turn on, and vis a versa. a week ago, the car would sometimes start and then shut off, so i took it to the mechanics and they said it was the fuel pump and the regulator had burnt out. Got it fixed at a deal of 530 dollars. Now its doing the same thing, no check engine light, and i dont have a enough money to get it looked at again, i'm only 18. The mechanic was nice enough to take a quick look for free and he said the car may be just learning itself over again because they had the battery diconnected for so long. Any ideas, thank you so much for your input.

it sounds like a passlock problem. are you still using the original key?

ive not had the passlock issue before, but have seen a couple of threads about it. go ahead and search and youll find an answer
