Hi

What is the most common axle diameter for tamiya, fujimi and revell kits?

Be more specific. What are you trying to do?

I want to buy styrene tube and rods to make custom axles to fit fujimi and aoushima wheels to any kit.

0.2 mm just measured a few fits with dial calipers

May need to adjust that decimal point.

The Tamiya and Hasegawa kits I measured came out to 2.0mm, or about 0.080". But, getting Fujimi wheels to fit Tamiya kits is not that simple. The wall of the cavity that holds the poly caps in Fujimi wheels protrude inwards about 3mm- so if you just aded a new center post, the wheels will sit farther out on the car then they are indended. To get these wheels to fit right, you need to find a clever way to remove it, and carefully center drill a hole for the new center post. A small lathe (or a large one- I've done it on a South Bend engine lathe- overkill!) does this quickly and easily, but I don't know of another good way of doing it.

fujimi do fit tamiya kit with some modifications. you just have to enlarge the hole in the disque brake parts to something like a 1/4 of an inch. then you have to enlarge the recess for the "polycaps" to the same size. go slowly with a demel tool and a deburing carbide bit until you are real close to the final size. then take your 1/4 inch drill bit and grind the tip of it square so you'll be able to enlarge the hole but keep the bottom of it straight. do it by turnning the drill bit in your finger (the use of a motor tool if too powerful and will break the part, tust me, i know). then the wheel should fit your model in a correct manner.

that my solution to that probleme
