Air In Brakes

I have bled my brakes about 10 times and I can't get the air out. I replaced the wheel cylinder on passenger rear and I bled the brakes several times and I can't get the air out. Any suggestions. I've heard to open all lines and let them seep out but not let the master cylinder run dry.

To properly bleed the brakes you will need 2 people (doing it the conventional way with no special tools), fill the resivor, have one person pump up the brakes 3-5 times (with the car running), then hold constant pressure on the pedal while the other one opens the bleeder screw (if you put a piece of hose on the bleeder and run it into a jar you will not have a big mess when your done), then close the bleeder, then pump them back up again, repeat as necessary on all the brakes, while never letting the resivor run dry (or you have to start all over again).

If this doesn't firm your brakes back up you either have a leak, a bad master cylinder, or a bad brake booster.

sometimes with ABS brakes you need to bleed the brakes from the proportioning valve. And for best results, work from the right rear, left front, left rear, right front an X pattern.

Thank you for your replies. I know how to do it I've done many times. This time I cannot get the air out. I have just a little bit of pedal and that is it. Any other ideas.

whats the year and engine in you GA? Are you rear wheel cylinders leaking anywhere that you can see? Make sure you tighten the bleeder good, just dont break it. and keep the resivour 'full' and it should clear out, just keep bleeding it. You did the sequence I suggested? Thats the correct/best way.

I use a bleeder kit with a vacum container to draw the air out instead of pushing it.

I did do everything properly. At first I was solo and tried did it with the bleeder kit that you can get at the parts store. It didn't work. I called my brother in law and he help me. Wheel cylinders are fine as a replaced the passenger side rear because it was leaking causing the first problem. The year is 94 se 3100. I've neve had this much trouble before.

I made my own syphon deal to do brakes, most of them I hav seen were plastic that break easy.

But anyway just keep on bleeding the wheel that you replaced the cylinder on(passenger side rear) untill its clear of air and or the fluid runs clear. then hit the other side and mov to the front. You may want to hav a big bottle of brake fluid to get all the air out.

And by flushing the system of its old fluid, your brakes should work better(unless their is other problems).
