idle/acceleration issues

2 small issues:
1. 50% of the time when i come to a stop at a stop sign or a stop light, my idle will fluctuate between 500rpm and 100 rpm...as i siad, only happens about half of the time, and only when it's in drive, not park...
2. hesitation when i hit the gas out of drive...there isn't much of an immediate throttle response when i hit it, but when im driving on the road or highway, the response is perfect...
if anyone has any ideas on these issues or has experienced these issues before, lemme know

ive had a similar problem you've had in #2, but different. i'd be driving along and say i had to switch lanes and accelerate quickly. well on a few occassions my car didn't accelerate, my engine just revved up really high and it scares the hell out of me cuz i don't want to get hit cuz my car is being dumb. no clue how to fix it, but its only happened like 3 times. i've noticed it's when i jam the pedal in quick too.

It sounds like either the trans isn't downshifting into first gear fast enough, so the torque converter isn't slipping enough to keep 2nd gear from bogging the motor, or you have a sticky IAC (idle air control) motor that isn't setting the correct fuel mixture at idle.

get some fuel injector cleaner to run through your gas, also check your O2 sensor and IAC valve
also take it to a transmission shop, have them run a diagnostics on it, trust me its worth it because if it is in the transmission, if you leave it the transmission will be shot and you will be left spending 2200 bucks on a new one
