clunking noise madness

99 Blazer: Here is a new twist to help solve the Blazer mystery clunk on braking, turning, etc that drives many crazy. Look at where the lower control arm, rear side, right above where the torsion bar enters the arm at the frame - the weld breaks and allows the bracket to open up when the torsion bar flexes! Unless you watch when the suspension is in motion you will not see the cracked weld. Sounds like a torsion bar, caliper, or driveshaft noise. Hope that helps a few.
Got both sides welded and rides better than ever - brakes are tigher and no pulling or clunking. Let me know how many others find that this is their problem. Those crappy welds were robotic done so probably on a bunch of frames.
