i have a 1992 pontiac grand am v6 3.3 engine and was wondering what would happen if i used e 85 gas in it because it is not a fuel flex car

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't use anything in your car other than what it's rated for. Using a fuel with too low of an octane could result in detonation / knocking, and could damage your engine internals over time. I don't know necessarily that 85 is too low for a 3.3, but I would say it's better to shell out a few cents extra and be safe than sorry. I guess if you're stranded, and say 85 is the only stuff available, than go for it. But other than that situation, I would stick with the sticker rating.

Your fuel system, fuel lines and injectors will not tolerate e85, this is for flex fuel cars/trucks only.

e85 has more octane in it than regular gas i read that on the e85 website
