VW Passat won't start

After a short morning drive my 99Passat(1.8T) would not restart. When I turn the ignition key nothing happens, no cranking, no sound of any kind. All of my electric function are working lights, radio, displays etc. so the battery appears charged and working. I got a push start to get it to turnover and run but once i turn it off again no restart. Any suggestion!!

Sounds like your starter took a dump. I can't remember if VW's have a separate solenoid, but I'm sure it's either the starter or a bad solenoid. If your local VW dealer is anything like ours, take it somewhere else like Pep Boys. My wife's Passat won't start right now, and they can't even look at it for two weeks! What the hell are we supposed to do until then? I'll never buy a used late model VW again while we have to deal with this dealership.

All the VW expert told me it was a starter:shakehead then the ignition but what I finally did was changed all my fuse's that had a engine symbol and the car starts every time. Freaky or what!
