Good morning everyone. Here's the story.
My Car: 1991 Pontiac Firebird Pro/Am
The motor: original 305 bored, balanced, higher compression. about 1,000 miles on it :D
The reason for the motor: Since the car is "special" (the Pro/Am designation) my dad sent the motor to my uncle's machine shop, instead of me getting a real big motor for it, and he got it all set up to handle some good power and balanced and such for longevity. So now I have the original motor, and can have fun with it.
The Question: What should I get for the heads/cam set up. I want something that will give me more than 350hp all said and done. I have no idea what it is at now, I know that stock it was 170hp and like 240tq. I was thinking of going with vortec heads the biggest roller cam I can get without having to mess with the torque converter and some sweet roller rockers (probably 1.6's) now where i need the help. If this was a for sure thing I would just do it, but I don't think that'll get me more than about 275hp all said and done, here is the link to my indication of gain, the danger mouse super chevy series. http://www.superchevy-web.com/tech/0312sc_dm15/index.html there is the link to the wrap up of that. But If anyone has any more idea's at all as to how I can get this power out of heads/cam/rockers i would so really really appreciate it so much. Thanks a lot guys I really appreciate it. BTW give me and idea of how much power you think i'd get out of your suggestion. And please don't make fun of my 305, lol. I love it
THanks guys, have a good one!
Jake
