Alright well I've decided to go on an active eclipse search, I'm just missing my old one too much. My budget would be about low 2k(2400 or so) and I'm really hoping for a 2g. I'm just wondering if ya'll think it would be possible to find a 95 gst for around the amount I stated, one that runs decent that is. Or should I just wait and save up about 2k more. Any suggestions? I'm thinking that if I put in a lot of overtime over summer I might be able to afford it, and the monthly SRT payments too. Let me know what ya'll think.

well in your zip code a 95 GST in Excelent condition with 100k miles blue books at $3800 private party and $5500 retail, and turbo 2g's always go for more than blue book... so for $2k its not going to happen, at least not in decent shape.

Well since you already had a GST, you should experience a GSX - so save up. BUT KEEP IN MIND, that gas and insurance for 2 TURBO cars, will be extremely expensive and time consuming, especially the eclipse...lol.

BUt if you look hard enough, there is alway a good deal everywhere!

I was just thinking that exact same thing, that is an amazing picture.

I would take that $2000 and buy a 1g AWD and build it. Thats what I will be doing. I'm thinking my buddy Mike is going to be losing interest in his car and I may end up with a DSM soon. I dont think I will be able to find a 1g AWD anywhere else around here so I may have to travel a bit to get one. Also, my DSM will basically be a weekend/track car when its built but that may be a while from now. I dont know how much fixing you want to do, but in my case, the broker the better. To me that means less money up front and I'll still be replacing the same stuff. Good luck on your hunt.

on a scale of 1-10 10 being the highest how much do you like your srt4? i would say if it is below a 7 sell it an get a GSX like a 98 or something i know you wont regret it, there is only so much fun i think you can have with the SRT4, isn't upgrading the NEON pretty expensive? im sure you like the way those newer GSX's look... i wouldn't keep both though..... but if i was swimming in money, i would think about.... since most of us don't have that kind of money.... i say you buy a GSX =)

I got my 95 gst from a dealership, they wanted around 6 grand, I talked em down to just under 4 and with taxes it was like 4400 or something like that. So I would probably save a bit longer, or sell the srt4.

Well, I'll tell you what I did... I looked forever for an AWD... I almost settled for a GST a few times but they were all like 4 or 5 grand. It took a while but a deal finally popped up and I picked up my TSI AWD for 3 grand... Just don't settle for the Eclipse man. There are lots of Talons out there for way cheaper than an Eclipse and they are just as good if not better. Plus if you want the Eclipse styling, you wouldn't have to change much to do the conversion... I'd watch DSMTuners classified section for an AWD too though. Sometimes there are pretty heavily moddified 2g's on there for like 4 or 5 grand. Maybe if you do save up some more you could just get one of those instead of a stock one. Trust me, I drove a lot of FWD's before I drove my AWD. You know how the FWD's are, you will be muuuuch happier with the AWD. lol

I'm still trying to sell my Talon... I would take $4000 for it... it's the one in my sig. I live in KS, so it's a bit of a drive.

I was thinking about it more today and thinking about just buying a shell and dropping a motor into it, if I can't find a cheaper GST. But ya'll are right there's nothing like the eclipse "feel". The srt is really easy to modify and easy to make high torque numbers but so far it's not giving me the same rush that the eclipse gave me. There's no way in hell I'm going to sell the car and I'm not loaded with money so...if I just purchased a shell and maybe dropped in a 6 bolt or something eventually...Does that sound possible? Thanks for all the help.

Ah, another victim of DSM withdrawl lol. Glad to hear you want back in man. Why don't you just start saving money, and raise your budget of $2k?
