Hey every one bought 91 Rodeo in oct 122k miles on it only problem with it 5th gear was out so i got it for 500$. No major problems with it for the past months other then the stick would get stuck and not beable to go into gear. i would push on the clutch but the stick would run into metal or somthing that would block it from going into first. i solved the problem by double clutching when that would happen.. press down let off press down put it into gear let off.
well that worked the pasted months last 2 days hasnt been working as well.. it will get stuck and ill do that and it wont work.. ill have to try 4-5 times and it barley wants to gointo gear have to give it a decent push and it goes in.. at times it wont want to go into 3rd gear as im driving.. i only have to do the double clutch once and it works .. every time that has worked so far.

while driving home i figured out somthing either it works atlot better while its been driven for 15mins or that.. if i push down on the clutch let off press on it again and put it into gear it works alot better. say im going from 2nd 3rd id just go to nutural first and let off and then go into 3rd it has worked quite good.. any how im asking what is the matter and how much is thing going to cost..:( to fix *is it cheapr then say replacing a tranni on a auto if the clutch needs to be replaced* thanks!

Do you have a hydraulic clutch system?

It sounds as if you do. It seems as if you 'pump' the clutch pedal, that is, press and release it several times before shifting, so shifting is easier.

This sounds as if the hydraulic clutch system has air in it or the clutch master cylinder is bad.

I would suggest bleeding the hydraulic clutch system first, then see if the shifting action improves. Bleeding is cheap and usually easy to do, so its a good place to start.

Look here for some generic clutch bleeding advice. Some of the details on your Isuzu may differ:

Let us know the results. If the problem persists, we may have to discuss other repairs.

if you clutch is hydraulic, check if your fluid is topped up, if it is, bleed the lines, there could be air stuck in them, then fill 'er up and see how well it works. if that doesn't work, take it to a mechanic or get different shops to quote you on a clutch master cylender replacement, a clutch replacement, or a clutch hydraulic system replacement, get the best price and have them replace it.

Well it hasnt got stuck yet.. i still have to double clutch it once and a while to get it into first but 2nd -5th is really easy.. i plan on taking it in maybe 2 weeks from now see what a mechanic thinks but as of now im goign to leave it how it is thanks guys alot!

when do you put it into first? you should only really need it when you go from a dead stop, or really close to stoped. my dads truck is the same, actually, most manuals i've driven won't let you get into first unless you double clutch or are going extremely slow or stoped

if you clutch is hydraulic, check if your fluid is topped up,
Uh, yeah.........I should have suggested that first...........its a bit like saying the car does not run because there is no gas in the tank!!

Keep an eye on that fluid level. It's rare the systems need topping up, so you may have a leak.
If the fluid level got low enough to affect the clutch function , some air was likely introduced into the line. It may work itself out over time or it may need bleeding.

check your trans gear oil first, but it sounds like synchronizer problems to me. maybe a bent shift fork along with that if youve been jamming the thing into gear for three months...
