I have read numerous posts here about cooling fan problems ,and was
wondering if someone could post detailed instructions on how to wire in a switch on the dash to control the cooling fan, including wire connections.
I have a 93 escort with ac.Thanks in advance,hbrammer:grinyes:

heres a little useful info about our fan problem, yes mine too. because your car has a\c it has to also have a two speed fan, low operates when the a\c is on to cool the a\c condenser, and it will also cool your car if the a\c is on. but because the fan motor has two settings it has a canceling relay to prevent both power leads from being on at the same time. therfore hooking a manual switch to the high fan circuit is risky. because if you have your ac on and you turn on the manual switch you will burn up your a\c relay and fuse and probably your eec module among other things. it just spells electrical nightmare. the only thing i have'nt tried yet' is that i heard that there is another relay for the fan under the airfilter box on the inside of the driverside fenderwell. so maybe check that out first or if you have to hook up a toggle switch to the fan then be sure to cut the low fan power lead wire to prevent short circuiting the motor. good luck. hope this helps a little. cak#33

well any way here it is. first run a power wire from the + of the battery to the switch and then from the switch to the high fan lead. no ground is needed because it is already hooked up 'black wire going to fan' cut other two leads one is high fan the other is low fan. never hook up both speeds at once.anyway hook the wire from the switch to which ever speed you want im not sure which is high and which is low so try one and then the other. and leave it hooked to whichever wire is the high fan. on the fan there is three wires. "a black one" do not cut" and two others that should be cut and one hooked to toggle switch wire. let me know if this works for you ok thanks. CAK_33!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
