Its been about 2 wks since i last drove it, and then i noticed when goin uphill it would seem to slip in between gears. Now today when i tried to start her up she wouldn't turn over. Recently put in New spark plugs, new rotor, new cap. Has half a tank of fuel. Has fuel coming through but still doesn't turn over. Even tried a can of starter fluid and still nothin just cranks and wont turn. Thinking of putting in a new Ignition module.... Really in need of some advice.....

"Doesn't turn over" means doesn't crank, i.e. dead battery, siezed engine. If it cranks but doesn't start, it's "turning over".
So, does it crank? Do the pulleys turn when you hit the starter? Or does it go "clack" when you turn the key?
If you checked the spark and it's a bright bluish-white color, then it's hot enough to run the engine. My guess is either mechanical (i.e. bad timing chain) or fuel delivery. If the cranking sounds wierd and unnatural, take the cap off of the distributor and have a buddy turn the key. If the pulleys on the front turn, but the distributor rotor does not, you have a bad timing chain/sprocket.

Also go easy on that starting fluid. Or you may blow it sky high.:grinyes:
The only safe starting fluid is carb cleaner in small amounts.
Good spark is good hot blue spark at the plugs that will jump over a 1/4 in up to a 1/2 or more and will jolt your teeth when you hang on the plug wire. :grinyes:

Turns out timing was a little off, all i need now is the distributor firing order... It runs but will cut off i think the fire order is slightly off.... if any has the specs on the ditributor firing order i'd gladly appreciate it.....

Chev V8 is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 clock wise.
Did you base time it with spark advance disabled or just turn the dist?
