i have a 95 grand cherokee v8 and i just ripped out the stock air box and put in a cone k&n air filter (not the full intake) but now have that hose that use to go into the air intake box loose....so i put a breather filter on the end of it so no dirt would get in their....problem is.......it seems like some kind of gas, or oil vapor was misting out of that hose and going into the air box????
do i need to hook that hose into my intake???
or buy a actual intake hose with that hole for that hose???

also it seems now my oil pressure on my dash is a lil higher than the middle at idle but like 3/4 high almost all the way to the end when driving, but lets of a little bit when i release the gas...but just seems higher than normal.......

could that be from the intake and for that hose thats now not connected into the intake hose????

http://smoothdeals.com/Engine.JPG <---that long part that looks like it has a connector with a tube coming out of it from like the manifold or oil something right under the intake tube ....does that have to be installed into the intake tubing or can it be ok disconnected???? heres a better picture of it....it looks like this ...#1 http://home.sc.rr.com/janet/TSB/09-05-00_files/80894746.gif

I have a '96 with an I6, and when i took my intake off i also put on a k&n. There is only one hose on mine that went from the intake to the pcv valve, which pretty much lets your engine breath. I just put that into my new intake (only 6 bucks on ebay) and it works fine. I dont know about the oil and gas fumes though, i dont think ive ever seen that. Might as well invest in the rest of the intake so you dont just have a hose sitting there.

And about oil pressure, nothing happend when i changed mine out. But that could be different on a V8.

yea i just bought a cheap one on ebay too that has the hole for the pcv hose and it seems to run better now and also the gauge dropped a whole lot cause the oil wass crappy and had to get a motor flush with run right and hook up that hose....thanks !!!
