02 Gt Stang Vs Teg

A friend of mine has a 02 mustang GT and we like to mess with people every now and then. Last night a black very stock looking teg pulled up next to us and revvs it up. They both take off going about 35 and the teg pulls about 1/2 cars length in front of him and we hit a red light. One of his buddies behind his car rolls down the window and tells us we dont stand a chance. The light turns green and its completely even until about 50 the teg pulls about 1/2 cars length. At 90 the teg's rear bumper was ever with our front bumper. We ended up shutting down at 125mph and the teg's rear bumper was about 5 feet in front of our front bumper. The teg won and my friend was shocked. This was by far the closest race I've ever seen.

Yeah theres definately sleepers out there.

There's a black early 90's (pre-94) Teg in my area. Every time we went to pass him, we could hear the "whoooshing" sound of a turbo. Funny thing is it was struggling to beat the V8 Dakota we were in, although it did. Done right though, they can be nice sleepers.

4.10s generally are recommended for autos and 3.73s for manual. The 4.10s will lower your 1/4 mile more, but use a 3.55 if you want to runa power adder.

Ok first theres a few things wrong with this. Usually 4cylinders dont have twin turbos must be a lot of custom work, you also have to run turbo headers and not conventional ones again must me more custom work. And if he has twin turbos he dosent have (1) cold air intake, usually on a twin setup the filter just bolts up to the turbo do to amount of space. And ive never seen anyone with twin turbos run a shot of anything unless its that intercooler spray. And finally if an integra had all this and you couldnt hear the turbos he should have been more than 5ft in front of your bumper.

hmm, did u hear the car at all? did u hear a turbo? its possible on the nos but def a hell no on the twin turbo. In order to beat a gt the teg would need at least a motor swap and some boltons + a small shot of nitrous, or a motor swap with turbo would do the trick.

Edit: (motor swap would also include just a head swap, aka LS/Vtec)

You can hear nitrous its pretty loud especially in the car that has it. Also you would hear the motor start reving alot quicker.

I didn't hear any turbos, once we knew we were going to race we put the windows up (it was a bit chilly out especially with 125mph wind blowing past us). Not to mention he has a very loud Stang. Anyway I'm not BSing. I'm positive it was a teg and that we lost by a little bit. Thats all I can guarantee.

Inspector Gadget is alot more handy. Take this race for instance. If he was in the GT, he woulda said GO GO Gadget Supercharger and won. With the help of Penny and Brain of course

Wow, sorry to hear the loss for your buddy. I still remember ages ago when I went to the illegal races with my buddies. Some dude was bragging to his buddies how he had his engine balanced and blueprinted, and a few other odds and ends. He had a sheet, which showed what he did to it, though I didn't see it up close. Anyways, some guy in a 93+ Integra that was white and had a black hood challenged him to race. The race was ugly..... The integra shot out of the hole. I swear I think that Integra would destroy my car, cause by the time the mustang was outta the hole he was getting close to the 330' mark in the tegra. I believe he won by roughly 10 buslenthgs. Mustang guy left for a long time after that. Integras have alot of potential.

yeah but after he tried to use his gadget supercharger instead of that comeing out a huge parachute would pop out instead. So pink panther ownz inspector gadget.

lol.........nahhhhhhh I seriously dont think he has those mods cause A. his motor would have popped.........or B. that stang would been beaten by train lengths......

I talked to my friend today and he said we may have a possible rematch within the next week or so. I think he's going solo this time in the hopes of dropping 200lbs (me) for the race. When he does though I'll be there with my 3kgt to catch the show.
