i'm about a week away from buying my first car, a crx. the only thing that's making me hesistant about the buy is the security factor. i work overnight at a retail store and a few cars (mostly old hondas) have been stolen off the lot. how can i protect my car from theft?

btw, i hear crx's can be started by simply putting it in gear and pushing it (all with the key in the ignition), is this true?

well i have takin apart my ignition system under the dash and it does look easy to steal one but there are ways to keep people from stealing it. im pretty sure that every manual car can be started by being pushed down a hill but the key has to be in the ignition before the whell can be turned so dont worry about that. i would just buy one of those wheel lock thing that go across the wheel. i would go for it crx's are the greatest ever.

put in a kill switch and get a quick release sterring wheel and take the wheel inside and put in your locker

you can hook up a hidden switch to your fuel pump or starter or something

What they said. And yes Hondas are simple to steal, and if someone wants the car bad enough, they will take it. So all you can do is make it a little harder for them.

lol...need a key to turn wheels????...they just take a damn hammer to top of ignition and smack it hard and wont be no more need for key ever again to turn the car wheels...

I think the quick release is great. After that, there's not a lot of people willing to go far enough to tow a CRX anymore I wouldn't think.

okay, all this sounds good. so um...quick release with a hub thing? any pix of the hub thing? a good company to buy from? are there any tutorials to kill-switch making/wiring/placement? what about a $200 two-way alarm system?

I was watching some special on Tv about thefts a while back. And they brought in a theft and he they showed us how he took those wheel locking things without even breaking a sweat. So don't get one of those, just a waste of money. :nono: Do they still make 'em?

Quick and easy way? Pull your main relay every time u park it... (Its located behind the coin tray down to the left of the steering wheel... Simple to remove... And not many theives would carry that with them... Course they can always just tow the car still...
