My 1997 Astro door locks will only work with the remote. Neither drivers side or passenger side door switch works. Is the drivers side a master switch? The fuses and relays seem to be OK.

Yes, driver side is a master control. Fuses and relays are all good because the system works with the remote. You're looking for an open circuit going to the driver side switch, possibly in the rubber boot between the body and the door. With constant opening and closing of the door, the wires eventually break. Sometimes this is difficult, if not impossible to see as the wire can break inside the insulation and leave no visible damage. You are going to be looking for an open circuit that is common to both doors. The problem could either be in the positive feed wire to the switch, or the main ground wire to the switch. It would be best to use a volt meter for testing. However, in a pinch, a test light would do, just remember to connect the alligator clip of the test light to a positive battery feed when searching for a bad ground. The test light will illuminate when ever a ground is probed. At the master switch, ignition key on, all wires except the positive feed wire are grounded.
