I have a 1998 jc limited, just got it. The power window work from the drivers side panel but not from the individual doors control, the manual doesn't list the location of the fuse for it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:banghead:

I have a 1992 Cherokee that had a similar problem.

The "Child Lock Switch" in the main driver side panel went bad, so that only that panel could be used to work the windows.

I was lazy (or didn't want to spend the money) and just wired that switch out of the circuit.

How did you do that? I have a 97 and can't find wiring for the child lock circuit anywhere?

It's not labeled well but in the 2000 FSM, if ypu look closely at the diagram for the driver side switch, you'll see a lock/unlock position. Seems this switch controls the + feed to the other door switches.

I pulled the whole switch panel off and did the wiring there (on the back of the switch). I don't remember if I pulled the whole door trim panel off or not, and the Haynes manual I have does not show that (or I can't find it).

Thanks, U the Man. Your are right about that, it is not lableled at all. I have have looked at that diagram before but missed it.
I will try again when the weather gets better, I had that door off many times to try and identify that wire.

My '88 FSM does label it as a safety switch. The 93 FSM I have is a little "fuzzier" on it with the 2000 being completely cloudy about it. When I first read "lock/unlock", I thought it had something to do with the door locks. It wasn't until after I followed the wires in the diagram that I realized this was it.

That's sad. I have a 2000 Cherokee Classic that has the same issue. You would think they would have replaced that type of switch to try and eliminate that issue since then. Guess they like selling switches instead.
