I just recently replaced my firebird hatch for a trans am hatch and now the trans am hatch wont stay open. Do i need to buy trans am hydrolic shock for the hatch?
Thanks

No, they are the same. I think it is just coincidental that they decided to fail right after you replaced the hatch...its possible the temperature is different or they got jossled a little in the switch. You'll just have to give in and buy new ones...

They may be worn out after all those years .But a T/A hatch with a larger wing looks heavier though . During the summer mine will nearly open by itself when I push the button but in the winter I have to pull up on it when I push it to get it unlatched . Rob

the extra weight of the t/a hatch probably helped them go. There may be ones at auto zone that you can get that will have more lbs/preasure that wil be able to practically open the hatch for you. Well good luck either way!
