TIP#1 Before installing a new automatic trans, backflush the trans cooler to prevent contamination of the new trans and converter.

TIP#2 Inspect your flexplate and driveshaft before installing it, look for bad teeth, cracks, loose or missing balance weights, worn yoke, and worn joints.

TIP#3 Always install and adjust (TV) cable or kickdown cable, By hooking up the TH350s kick down, you will get added line pressure when downshifting.

TIP#4 Verify shifter adjustment before starting the engine.

TIP#5 That $45 shifter cable will melt if it gets close to your exhaust, and dont bend it too much or it will split, if you split it use duck Tape, as any glue or sealent will get into the cable action!

TIP#6 Check your transmission cooler lines are not touching your exhaust system, in some cases it would be a good idea to install your cooler under your passenger seat laying about 2inches off the floor at a slight angle.

TIP#7 Please use steel line for your modulator, use only that rubber "L" at the modulator, RUBBER WILL COLLAPS UNDER VACUUM!

TIP#8 Add at least 4 quarts of trans fluid to your trans when changing your filter or putting a new one in before starting, With the engine running continue to slowly fill trans untill about 3/4 form the fill mark, TRANS fluid expands when it gets hot, recheck after warmup.

TIP#9 REPLACE the trans new filter after break-in RACE=20 passes STREET=500 miles, Why? small fiber particles from the new bushings and clutches will accumulate after inital break-in.

TIP#10 ADD a magnet to the inside of your trans pan, Get an engine oil pan magnetic plug that fits a GRADE 8 nut, Drill a hole in your pan and weld the nut on the OUTSIDE of the pan, now you have a magnetic drain plug in your trans pan, the B&M kits are crap!

TIP#11 Only tighten your trans bolts to 13lb-ft, or you will strip your holes and your car/truck will bleed forever!!! Take the time and recheck after warnup and after a few days.

TIP#12 Its not worth the pure hell on getting a new trans after cracking your case because you used a solid trans mount.

TIP#13 A block of wood does the job on pounding in your dipstick to the trans.

TIP#14 Don't use Teflon tape on your RAD or your TRANS, it could crack the case.

TIP#15 TCI racing Trans Fluid WORKS!!!

TIP#16 Look for a 4X4 deep pan, you will need the longer pickup tube also, I got a free deep 4X4 from the place I had my TH400 built, just ask, what can you loose?

TIP#17 Buy a spin on inline trans filter, its not only cool to have a 2quart orange FRAM filter in your car, but it adds to your cooling, and some have a place for a trans temp senser.

TIP#18 At some places if you bring them a trans kit, they will just charge your the labor fee, It happed to me, I love my TCI kit.

SIDE NOTE:My 400TH has the TCI MASTER REBUILD kit with the extra clutches,Kevlar band, B&M 3,500 Stall converter and a B&M stage 3 kit in it,and a 4X4 deep pan with the oil pan plug, inline spin on filter, trans temp gauge, cooler, and stock cooler, and HD sprags.
