before you bought the fuel filter you should have bought a manual. if the civic is the similar to an accord, then i would assume the filter is on the firewall being held by some sort of bracket. on the top are two hoses, one for in and one for out. both of them are made of metal, so make sure not to crimp them at all. the one in the middle should have a banjo bolt which you loosen to relieve the fuel pressure. make sure you have a rag to soak up this fuel. then remove the hoses, take out the old filter, put in the new one, replace the washers, then reattach the hoses. put the key to the on position and let it sit for a couple seconds and check for leaks. if no leaks then you are done. if leaks then you should have bought a manual. good luck.

yea you could go get a cheesy Haynes manual and even that will tell you how to do it. If you have about $67 then go get a Helms manual and that will tell you EVERYTHING.:D
