CAT Problem

I have a '01 Jetta 2.0. I called the VW dealership in my area about needing to have the CAT replaced. I was told there is a recall on AEG model? I have not a clue on what this is... but was informed, instead of warrenty 80k that it was extended to 120k. I was told how to find out what model I have was by looking at the Engine model. Please if anyone knows, how I can be able to find out this information before taking to dealership...any other way besides looking at the engine model number, or if anyone knows about this information about warrenty on CAT.
Thanks

its not a recall its an extension of the factory warranty. but people like to call that a recall...

look on your timing belt cover on the top there is a white lable
it should say AEG on it. i

f it says avh, azg its not applicable.

The only thing I could find was a lable above the Serpentine Belt...is this where the timing belt is? If so, all I could find was some number and then AVH after a barcode? Please let me know if this is correct.

not part of the extended warranty. it only applies to the 2.0 AEG engine code.

normal cat warranty is 7yr 70k miles or 8yr 80k miles
