Hi Im about to buy a 1994 G20. I noticed the car didnt have all that great of pickup. Is there anything you can do to make it "spunkier?" Also the car had 143,000 miles. Do you think itll last me 2-3 yrs till about 200000 (est.) Thanks :)

no by "pickup" he means acceleration. the only thing to do is mod the engine or get a 5 speed they r a little faster.

I have an AT 1994 G20 with 145 thou miles.....I'm hoping to stretch out may car for 5+ years.....I heard these engines will go forever.....if I had the dough to do it I would go with a hotshot CAI, header and greddy mx exhaust...that would add about 12-16 hp to the wheels thanks to info from bboogie.....all that would be about 1 grand so i dunno if its worth it....

maybe a couple more HP ;)

as for being worth it, i'd say so, you dont have to do all at once...
get the intake first, then exhaust and finally header..

if you want a good bang for the buck.. get underdrive pulleys!! best dollar value per HP there is if you dont want to roll deep with the cash! switch all 4 pulleys. if you have a big bumpin stereo system, dont switch out your alternator pulley, you can damage your audio equip...

Your engine has several pulleys (metal wheels) that pull belts which power certain parts of your engine.

There are four that can be replaced:

Power steering
Alternator
Water pump
Crank

Underdrive pulleys, in addition to being lighter weight, are slightly undersized. What this means in a nutshell is that since the pulley is smaller, you are spinning things slower, therefore using less HP for those four items, and making it available to your wheels.

Do not replace your alternator pulley if you have a large stereo install because the resulting slower spun alternator has been known to cause problems and/or damage to electronic components...

You can find the pulleys @ www.nopionline.com

Power steering pulley $90
Alternator pulley $90
Water pump pulley $90

As far as I know, the crank pulley is only available in a package which comes with the water pump pulley. this costs $245

You can get all four together in a package for $388.00

Also if you want to skip the alternator pulley and only do the other three, paying $245 for the water/crank pulleys + $90 for power steering pulley = $335. It may be worth your while to get all four and then sell off the alternator pulley for $50-90.

Yeah, those Underdrive pulleys are something else.

My friend has a 96 del Sol (its a honda, and its not that great), but when he put in his pulleys, I was amazed at how those added so much kick and power to the car, I couldnt believe it.

They are going to be one of the first mods I do along with intake and exhaust.

YES you can do it. It's really not that hard. You just need a pully puller for the crank pully and some peutroleum?? jelly to help the new one slide on with ease. It took me about 2 hours to do the crank and water pump pulley's. NICE mod. Instructions do come with the pully's too. :bandit:
