Cadillac Deville ECM 86 for 85???

Can I use ECM from Cadillac Deville 86 for 85? and where I can find information when I use a part that is not the same year? Thanks.

According to the parts catalogue 1985 is listed all by itself. 1986-1987 are the same. the 85 is labeled 1226462, while the 86-87 is labeled 1227056
