Tranny fluid smells burnt, but still red/clear

Hi,

Car: 93 lumina Euro, 95K 3.1L

The tranny seems to be fine, but as part of routine stuff, I checked the fluid level, and noticed it smelled a little burnt, and there were some small bubbles on the stick... BUT the fluid was red/clear - Not brown or dark at all.

I checked it with the engine at full temp, idleing... I do have a cooler on it...

The question is, is the color more important than the smell? or should I have it flushed? or not worry about it at all?

There were little bubbles on the stick, but only with the engine running... the fluid level was right at the top of the fill line

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bob

How long has it been in there, usually the bubbles are from slight overfill or air getting into the fliud , sometimes the seal around the filter pick up can cause air to enter the oil.
