fog lamp and headlight brights problem

Okay first of all, my fog lights just stopped working one day, I believe I checked all the fuses but have not found anything wrong? is this a problem that someone has had before.
Also when I go to turn on my brights the headlights turn off. I can flash my brights but once I let it click over to the brights they go off.(what a shock that was the day I found that out.)
These problems are independent from eachother since the fog lamp problem I have had for about 2 years, but to lazy to really care, and the headlight problem for about a year.
