Hey :evillol: hey!!! so someone had posted a thread with a link to "Sport Compact Pro" for sponsorships, well i filled out an app. and got excepted.:smokin: i now get $12,000 a year towards parts, and with a 50% discount at that for the parts i believe :screwy: . This is my first sponsorship so i want to do things right, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to go about this.

Decals are cool man.

Well yeah i hate to put decals on my car, but if i can get parts cheaper then from the store then it seems to make sence. Now if someone has a reason why this is a waste of time and money then im all ears. My obligation to the company is to goto 4 events a year in my area(ok no problem) and if i can, recruit some people and make money for their applications. So whats wrong with that, i have to go through them to get my parts and it seems i might take like a month but since im just starting up im not in a rush cuz even though they say the parts are cheaper, i still dont have much cash to spend so i figure every little helps.

First off silent you dont know me or what im about, so to call me a fuckhead ricer is uncalled for. I dont have a riced out car nore do i like them. Though the company seemed small it didnt seem to be a scam, do u have proof of them being scammers? You did the research on them to know they are scammers? I dont see why if a person who is interested in something and wants to do something about it and wants to share their experiences with other people thought to be into the same thing would be made fun of for doing it. Out of all people on here i wouldnt have expected Silent to be such an ass. Hey if it is a scam then i chalk it up to you live and you learn, if not then i got alot of parts for cheap(cuz thats what makes your car rice right?), and i got my foot in the door to doing and getting what i want. So ill tell you what, give me $10,000 towards my parts for the year and i will put your name on a 6" long 2" high black sticker on my black car for a year.

There are levels of sponsorship that you can be in that provide different levels of part availability. I have no records of me going to any shows entering or just goin to see them. If i was already going and had proof that i was wirth a higher level of sponsorship then eventually i would get to the point of not paying for parts. But you gotta start somewhere.

They sell you very few name brand parts; the rest are all decals, car audio, neon lights, etc (Ricer shit). And they don't give you $10,000 to get parts for free, they give you up to a $10,000 discount on parts (so they'll take a hundred or so $ off the price of the parts, and those few hundred $'s could add up to $10,000). So you're not getting ANYTHING for free. And you can find name brand or similar quality no name brand parts for the same price or cheaper, without having to be "sponsored". So technically it's not a scam, you just have to read the fine print. To really get sponsored, it's like the old saying "it takes money to make money". To get a true sponsorship, you have to have a car that is worth the time and money for a company to be interested in you. Meaning you have to have stuff done to your car before you get sponsored by a real company.

This scam has been around for years...every year at least 5 dipshits fall for it and they post here.

NFSU2 and real life are 2 different things dude :screwy:

he is right on the different levels on sponsorships....and to think about it, NFSU2 doesn't have different levels, you select a sponsor and race...thats about it.

There are some legit companies that do those sponsorship things, but there are a bunch of scams. Most of the legit ones, it really depends on what all is done to your car right now. Stock car, you get decal sponsorships, bunch of shit you really don't want. Got more done to your car, you get more. Pretty much like that one guy said, "you gotta spend money to make money"

And yes, Silent can be a big ass.

People really should organize and look into your legal options.
What they do, in my opinion is just plain wrong.

Before anyone considers being "sponsored" by
these companies, I would suggest reading this thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=279688).

If you want to know how real sponsorships work
and what it takes to get them, I would recommend reading this book. (http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/sam.htm)

Heres something to think about....you drive a CRX....who is going to hand you $10k?? That car doesn't draw enough attention to justify giving you that amount of money. When cars get sponsored for real, they're cars that catch attention and that people have already put a ton of money in, not stock cars...

I'm further along on my way to be "sponsored" than you are...
