A while back, December 8th, I got pulled over for my window tints. I never really knew they were illegal. They were on the vehicle when I bought it, so I never paid money to have them put on. I've been through so many stop checks and not one officer has said a word about them, so I figured they were legal. As i was saying, I was pulled over for the tints, I got a ticket of $150 for them and a vehicle inspection ticket. I get them taken off for $27 and then I head to the police station to get them inspected three days after I was pulled over. The cop was a complete ass, always asking "What do you want" "Hurry up, what do you need". I gave him the inspection ticket and he told me to take him to the car to see if the tints were removed. We both stepped right out front, and then he started walking back in so I followed. He turned around and said "Go home, GO HOME". I was like.. what the fuck ever dude.
So that brings me to now.. in the mail today, I get a letter from my insurance company. They said "you have failed to report or make a claim proving the removal of any reflective window and windshield covers to the Regina Police Office. If the request is not met, your vehicle will lose it's liability to be insured and deemed unsafe for Saskatchewan roads. If an inspection does not occur before February 16, 2006, a deductable of $200 will be paid and you're vehicle may be elligable for impound."
Thanks officer for being a lazy ass and making me have to go the effing SGI to get it reported because you didn't file the report. And thank you SGI for threatening to impound my car just so you can make some money. Blah, I'm moving to Alberta.

And thus, a buzzcut and a gun turn a dick into a dick with the power to make your life very difficult. I've met many good cops in my time, but I've met just as many utter cretins -- particularly members of that elite "waste of state taxes" group known as State Troopers: "My job is to sit in median strips, alongside guardrails, and in FRONT of the island in between the fork of the highway and an offramp, JUST to provide a dangerous situation for vehicles moving at 65+ miles per hour -- only to give you a ticket for doing 6 miles over the speedlimit and interrupting my morning coffee and bearclaw routine." Asshats...
I've met some good town cops in my day, but I've yet to meet a decent state pig.

Cops have never even mentioned my tint. I always drop my windows every time I get stopped and maybe that's why. Dunno.
Used to be that they were more worried about how many bottles they could find in my vehicles. That kind of dark glass.

Problem being filing a complaint might give him more shit than its worth. Reason being is that when a complaint is filed against an officer he usually tells his buddies. In turn his buddies bust your balls for anything they can get away with. BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHO U PISS OFF IT MIGHT BITE U IN THE ASS.

how can insurance get revoked for tinting? Window tinting, is NOT a moving violation: like a rolling stop, merging too soon, or speeding. It could however be considered "obstruction of view".... kinda like when boxes are piled to high in car, preventing you to see behind you, or the blind spots.

The problem with this, is that SGI has the final say over any registered vehicle. SGI stands for Saskatchewan Government Insurance just FYI. They both register and insure vehicles.. and it's a government company, so this is just a huge monopoly and I can't exactly go anywhere else. Since they register and insure vehicles, they refuse to insure any vehicles that wouldn't be able to get a registration, and that's where my car falls under. So yes, this would be called obstruction of view, but they also claim that if you somehow end up in a lake or something, the glass would not break because of the tinting and you would be dead. There's a lot of really stupid laws here, and I'll fully comply, when they start giving me the respect I deserve.

its cause you dont have the white privelage. I hear so many stories about people of different skin colors getting treated like shit by cops, but me being a white boy, ive never had a dick of a police officer to me. Ive been pulled over for doing 20 MPH over the limit and got away with Impeding Traffic. Zero points. ONe time i got pulled over, flew past a cop racing a budding, i was doing prolly a good 70-80MPH in a 45MPH zone, i got a ticket for going 5 MPH over. . .LMAO the list of things the cop could have written me up for, including MIP and possesion of illegal fireworks, street racing.
Its good to be white, sorry but in this country it is.

I have gotten out of a ticket for doing 92 in a 55. Also I got out of a ticket that included Reckless driving and Alluring a police office. Alot of it had to do with knowing the right person though. I have had my share of city cops being a dick though. When I first moved to Boise I got pulled over for failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Being new to the area I got the zip code of where I lived with one that was for a different area of town (Boise has like 6 different zip codes) and he was sitting there fighting with me about it. I had already told him that I was new to town and had told that I wasn't sure but he insisted on being a dick about it. I f*cking hate cops.

Not at all, I just agreed with it completely, I did everything my friends told me to when I'm pulled over by a cop ex: taking the keys out of the ignition and putting them on the dash or in view of the officer, or having your lisence and registration ready. I wasn't pissed off or anything at the time, I actually felt like a badass cuz this is my first ticket  The cop that pulled me over wasn't an ass.. it was the officer at the police station. Maybe he had a rough day, I don't know. All I know is that he didn't look like he was in the helping mood.

Exactly -- because then the cops are actually doing their job.
"To protect and serve": How is giving someone a ticket for going 75mph on the highway on a clear morning with light traffic, or pulling some kid over for an expired inspection sticker IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET "protecting" and "serving" anyone?
Unless, of course, the subject of "protecting" is the justification of their existing on the department's payroll, and "serving" is followed by "their quota numbers."
Having spent nearly a year in the field of Loss Prevention at my last job, I have most definitely met some real GOOD cops -- the kind that you can't help but respect (spend 4 hours in a small LP office watching cameras with a cop, and you'll get to know them real well.) But spend 2 1/2 years commuting 45+ minutes each way to and from college 5 days a week, and you'll have your share of traffic-related run-ins with them as well (usually troopers in my case, since it was practically all highway.) The only ticket I ever received from a town cop, was one where he actually knocked the degree of infraction DOWN for me, because it was rather late, the roads were empty, and I wasn't racing anyone or whatnot.

Some of the schools here are more dangerous then being on the street. If they have a family to raise or are older, it may be better for them to be safer in the schools then out on the street.

If you drive a worktruck in Regina with a toolbox and a sliptank in it, I bet you could have the windows as black as you want and you'd get away with it. Cops look for flashy cars to stop, like that Eclipse. Nice car though.
It seems if you drive a minivan or a worktruck anywhere it's like you have invisibility. I would have a hard time making it uptown in my clean cars or trucks, but get in mom's van or in the worktruck and I could drive around all night. Cops didn't want anything to do with me then.
Tint is a must. I'd be so mad if cops did that to me...

Cops can F&*k you up as much as they want, and there isnt jack shit you can do about it, except file a complaint, which will get you in more shit, Im seriously thinking of leaving this country when Im ready
I recently got a ticket for Misreprensentaion of Age-Minor
Which was a total BS ticket and the cop knew it, I asked them if they had videocameras so they could replay and watch the incident, and prove my inonncence, but hell no "we dont have cameras" was his response which is also bullshit . SO i have to take a day off of working to go pay this fucking ticket, I spend about 4 hours just waiting in fucking line to see the judge which takes a total of 30 secs, which all she had to do was say it was okay for me to pay the ticket then i have to wait another hour in line just to pay the fucking bitch,
Seriously people, revolutions are healthy means of progress, its time for one!

Well, I can somewhat understand that, but this is a suberb of Tampa, not the Bronx. The cops down here though may have families, I don't know, but they are all ~ 30 and just fat. They are to lazy to be on the street so they go sit in an office and intimidate middle schoolers. It is just really pathetic.

My friend all his trucks are DEEP(might as well use black paint)tinted windows, and I have been helping him out for a while now and haven't had a problem, they mostly like to prowel on people that have sports cars and have nice expensive cars.

There are schools right here on Long Island that are more dangerous then schools in the Bronx. Have you stopped to think that them sitting in an office "initimidating" middle schoolers might actually be a deterent for a tragedy to happen there. Tragdies like Columbine can happen anywhere anytime. Be greatful you have a police force staffed enough to be in the schools.

I never really hated cops in general. Every ticket I've ever got I deserved. I have been hassled by cops twice in my life for no apparent reason, but I figured they were the exception rather than the norm. Then...
...my daughter was hit by an off duty CHP officer. She was turning left and although her left hand turn signal was on, the guy said that she had indicated that she was really going to turn right because she veered to the right before her left turn. He passed in the other lane (oncoming traffic lane) and hit her when she turned in front of his path as she had no clue someone was going to pass her like this. Well, I went an took pictures of the scene and his skid marks start on the wrong side of double yellow lines and terminate in the dirt on the far side of the lane! Today I went and got the accident report. The on duty CHP officer said that my daughter was at fault for making a left turn from an inappropriate position in the road. She turned left from a narrow single lane...kinda hard to be in the right, or wrong position!
Well, I can afford lawyers and I'm gonna go waste some money on city hall if only to put a scare in the officers that are playing this good ol boy game.
